ODI can remove the planning members as well?

ODI could replicate the hierarchy of DRM in Planning but can’t remove the members which are not there in DRM but present in planning.

One day I had to delete thousands of shared members in Planning, the options available for me to address this problem are:

Use “Formdef utility” to take exports of webforms:

Export all webforms of that application and delete the complete hierarchy and rebuilt once again and again import the webforms (Import works only when you have all members in webforms present in hierarchy)

Use ODI to remove the shared members:

This process is really eye cache and very interesting, it turned my views on ODI diagonally; I would like to share how I did using this blog.

Step 1: Create one text file with the below syntax:

Make sure that storage property should mention otherwise it will delete the store occurrence of that member.

                            

Step 2: Create an interface in ODI and map as below

 

Source	Target
Parent	Parent
Child	Dimension name
Storage	Data Storage
Operation	Operation

                              

Step 3: Execute the interface, and check the Execution status in Operator.
